How To Install eSIM On Android
Follow these instructions, which may vary depending on your device and language settings.
Before You Start
- Ensure your device is eSIM-compatible and network-unlocked.
- Connect to a strong Wi-Fi network for successful eSIM activation.
- The eSIM validity period starts upon installation.
- Do not remove the eSIM, as it cannot be reinstalled or regenerated.
Installation Steps
Add eSIM from Settings
Navigate to Settings > Connections > SIM card manager.
Choose to Add Plan
Select Add mobile plan and then tap Scan carrier QR code.
Scan QR Code or Enter Manually
Scan the QR code from your email or manually input the details provided. A strong Wi-Fi connection is required.
Wait for Activation
Your eSIM will connect to the network. This may take several minutes.
Label Your eSIM
Go back to the SIM card manager, choose your new eSIM, and give it a custom name like “Travel eSIM” for easy identification.
How to Access Data
Enable Your eSIM Profile
In SIM card manager, toggle on your newly installed eSIM.
Activate Data Roaming
Go to Settings > Connections > Mobile networks and toggle on Data Roaming.
Select eSIM for Mobile Data
In Settings > Connections, tap Mobile data and choose your eSIM. Disable 'Auto data switching' to avoid unintended charges.
Troubleshooting
If you've installed the eSIM correctly but can’t access the internet, try these steps. Remember: DO NOT remove the eSIM.
Manually Select a Network
Go to Network operators, turn off automatic mode, and select a network from the list that appears.
Set up APN Manually (if accessible)
Go to Access Point Names, click "Add," enter the APN from your email, save it, and select it.
Restart Your Device
A simple restart can often resolve connectivity issues.
